More room for your documents
The free-plan limit on Bills & Warranty just went from 10 documents to 15. If you'd already hit the old ceiling and given up adding your last few appliances, go back in - there's space now.
We picked 15 deliberately. A typical flat has somewhere between 8 and 12 things worth tracking a warranty on: the fridge, the washing machine, a couple of phones, a laptop or two, maybe an AC unit and a two-wheeler's insurance papers. Fifteen gives you room to cover a full flat plus a bit of headroom, without us pretending the free tier is unlimited when it isn't.
Nothing else about Bills & Warranty changed - same categories, same warranty countdown, same reminder before something expires. If you were already using it, this update is invisible until the moment it isn't: the moment you go to add your 11th document and it just works.
If you haven't tried it yet, the actual workflow is short: open Bills & Warranty, tap New, pick a category (electronics, appliances, vehicles, and a few others), attach a photo of the invoice or warranty card, and set the warranty length. That's it - no separate step, no "finish setup later." The whole point is that it takes about as long as taking the photo itself, because anything slower means people stop bothering after the second or third item.
We also didn't touch the free-tier ceiling by accident or as a one-off favor - it's a real, deliberate number we intend to keep honest going forward. If a future change ever affects it again, you'll hear about it here, not discover it silently.
अब हिन्दी में भी
BudgPay is now available in Hindi. Every screen - budgets, expenses, Personal Ledger, Bills & Warranty, settings, all of it - has a Hindi translation, not just the marketing bits. Switch it from Profile → Settings → Language, and it takes effect immediately, no restart needed, no app restart, no logging back in.
This matters more than it might sound like from a changelog line. A lot of apps treat "language support" as translating the home screen and a couple of buttons, while every actual form, error message, and settings screen stays in English. That's not what we did here - if you hit a validation error while adding an expense, that error is in Hindi too, not just the label above the field.
This is the first language we've added beyond English, and it won't be the last. We picked Hindi first because it's what the largest share of people asking for this actually needed, not because it was the easiest one to ship. If there's a language your household actually needs, tell us - support@budgpay.com - and it goes on the list we're actually working from, not a wishlist that never gets read. We can't promise a date, but we can promise it gets read by someone who can act on it.
What we didn't change
Everything else stays exactly as it was: BudgPay still doesn't process payments, still doesn't hold your money, and settling up with your group still happens however you already do it. That's not this update - that's a separate piece of work we're doing properly rather than rushing, and when there's something real to say about it, it'll get its own post here, not a vague mention buried in someone else's changelog.
For now: more room in Bills & Warranty, and a second language that actually covers the whole app. Small on paper, but both were on the list for a reason.
