Does BudgPay process payments or hold my money?

No. BudgPay doesn't process payments or touch your money at all - today, it's purely a tracking and organizing tool. It works out exactly who owes what across your group, and you settle up however you already do (cash, UPI, bank transfer, anything). Direct in-app UPI payments are on our roadmap for a future release.

Is UPI payment support coming to BudgPay?

Yes - letting you pay a merchant or a group member directly over UPI from inside the app is planned for a future release. For now, BudgPay focuses on getting the tracking, splitting, Personal Ledger, and Bills & Warranty experience right first.

How does splitting and settling up actually work?

Add expenses and contributions to a shared budget as they happen. BudgPay calculates each member's fair share and simplifies debts down to the fewest transfers you'd need to make, so you're never juggling several small amounts - just mark it settled once everyone's squared up.

How are expenses split among budget members?

By default, every expense logged under a budget is split equally across its current member count - the "per person" and "your share" figures update automatically as members join or leave.

Yes - creating budgets, splitting expenses, tracking a Personal Ledger, and everything else is completely free.

Can I use BudgPay for recurring budgets, like monthly flat expenses?

Yes. Set up a budget - like your Flat Expenses - with a weekly, monthly, or quarterly cycle, and BudgPay automatically recreates the whole budget fresh each cycle, while keeping every past cycle in its history.

What is Bills & Warranty, and does it cost extra?

Bills & Warranty lets you store invoices and warranty cards for anything you own, with an automatic reminder before a warranty expires. It's free up to 15 documents on your account.

What's the difference between group budgets and Personal Ledger?

Accepted Answer

Group budgets are shared with everyone in that budget - a flat, trip, or family - and every member sees the same expenses and contributions. Personal Ledger is private to you: it's for tracking money you've personally lent to or borrowed from someone, one-off, outside of any group budget.

Is my data safe and private?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BudgPay never asks for or stores your bank details or UPI PIN, and Personal Ledger only ever sees the one contact you pick from your phone - never your full address book. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can permanently delete your account and data at any time.

Is BudgPay available in languages other than English?

Accepted Answer

Yes - BudgPay currently supports English and Hindi, with more languages planned.

Question 11

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Your profile and personal data are permanently removed. Expense and contribution records you added to a shared group budget stay in that group's history, since removing them would affect the records of other members who are still in the group.

Does BudgPay show ads?

Accepted Answer

BudgPay may show ads in some parts of the app to keep the core budgeting features free. They're never shown inside a payment or sensitive data-entry flow.

Yes - BudgPay is available to download on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.
